These students will be added to the waiting list based on when their application was received and below the students that applied during the lottery window (Aug. 1, 2020 – Jan. 15, 2021).
The lottery window for the 2022-2023 school year is now open. Please click here to complete the lottery application. The lottery window will close on January 15th.
The Academy has a high demand for enrollment, with more students wanting to come to The Academy than we can accommodate due to space and class size limitations. The waitlist for each academic year is established through a lottery process. Potential candidates are processed in this random lottery where each candidate has an equal chance of being selected. Parents/Guardians must submit a lottery application each year when the lottery window is open (August 1st - January 15th). Please note that there are two categories of candidates that are exempt from the lottery process but must still complete a lottery application:

1. Children of staff (application for enrollment occurs within 30 days of hire)
2. Siblings of current students (by family admission date)

If a student is not offered a spot during the initial enrollment period, the student remains on the prioritized waitlist through October 1st. When an opening becomes available, we will offer the spot to the next person on the waitlist. If a parent declines a spot, their student will be removed and they will have to re-apply if they change their minds.

The Academy does not make any distinction on account of race, creed, color, gender, national origin, or religion of any student who seeks admission.

Once a student is enrolled at The Academy, their position in the school is secure, and they do not have to re-apply for a position the following year.

Any child who reaches four years of age on or before October 1st is eligible to enter pre-kindergarten.

Parents will be required to pay a $100, non-refundable deposit.

Q: Is there a lottery pool for all students?
A:  Yes, for all new students applying to The Academy.

 Q: How do I enroll my student(s)?
A: Once the lottery window opens (August 1st annually), anyone interested in placing their student in the lottery pool for enrollment at The Academy must fill out the lottery application form on-line or come to the Main Campus to fill out a paper application. A separate form is required for each student.

Q: After I fill out the lottery form, how will I know if my student is enrolled?
A:  We will begin notifying families in February if their student was drawn in the lottery and are eligible for enrollment. Students are not enrolled until the Eligible for Enrollment packet is submitted and reviewed.

Q:  How many students are in the lottery pool to enroll?
A:  This will vary upon grade level. The average is 100.

Q:  Is there a fee to attend The Academy?
A:  The Academy is a public charter school; therefore, we do not charge tuition except for our Pre-K program.
To view our fees, click here.

Q: If my student is not selected by the lottery for the upcoming school year, will their information be rolled over to the next year?
A: No. Students who are not selected by the lottery or are still on the wait list when school starts will need to fill out the Lottery Application again to be included in the following year's lottery. Names and information will not be rolled over from year to year.

Q: Does The Academy provide transportation?
A: No. Parents are required to provide transportation to and from school.

Q: How much time are parents expected to devote to The Academy?
A: The Academy does not require parents to volunteer; however, we do encourage it. When families are involved in their children's education, grades and test scores go up, children become more likely to pass and attend better schools after high school, and they tend to have fewer discipline problems.
