Dear Wildcat Community,
We are reaching out to announce that The Academy will remain closed to in-person learning for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year. We currently plan to follow the direction of Governor Polis and the Colorado Department of Education by continuing to facilitate remote learning through the end of our published school calendar.
Earlier today, a collection of the biggest school districts across the Denver Metro area, including Adams 12, announced their joint decision to stay closed through the end of the school year. Our authorizer, the Charter School Institute, has directed all of its member schools to follow the lead of their geographical district. While we are deeply disappointed, we agree that this decision is in the best interest of the health and safety of our community.
If you saw in the news the joint statement put out by the Superintendents of Metro Denver's biggest districts, you probably noticed their reference to seeing everyone in August. The Academy will continue to consider any possible way we can safely bring our community together earlier than that to recognize some of our community's most cherished events and rites of passage. Similarly, we are already looking into options for holding additional in-person instructional programming over the summer if we can do so safely. We will send additional communication clarifying these points as soon as possible.
For now, we wish you all continued health, happiness, and safety. Please reach out to your Teachers or Principals if we can offer any further support.
